Biography

Mike Burke was named Superintendent for Palm Beach County Schools in July 2021 after more than 20 years as Budget Director, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. As CFO, Mr. Burke was responsible for the District’s Financial Management and Information Technology divisions. Mr. Burke is the Past Chairman of the Florida School Finance Council and has served on this Council since 2006. In 2015, he received the Superintendent’s Outstanding Leadership Award through the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County. Before joining the District, he was a budget analyst for Broward County Public Schools. Mr. Burke earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida State University, and a Masters of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
