Biography

Robert “Bobby” Shea is the Southeast Regional Child Protection Director for the Florida Department of Children and Families. In this role, he oversees child welfare operations and policy implementation in Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach and Broward counties. A former child protective investigator, supervisor, program administrator, and operations manager, Shea earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from West Virginia University. He is a Certified Public Manager and has conducted numerous trainings on leadership, child protective investigations and child welfare best practices. He has served for more than two decades as a child welfare professional with DCF in the Central and Southeast Regions, managing daily operations, implementing policy, and advocating for local and statewide system of care enhancements.
