Council Update: Board approves same slate of officers
Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County’s board on Thursday voted to keep the same slate of officers for 2021: Thomas Bean as chair, Jose Luis Rodriguez as vice chair and Vincent Goodman as secretary.

LatinX Challenge: CSC CEO Lisa Williams-Taylor informed the Council that 12 CSC staff members, along with other community partners, attended the first LatinX Challenge session in Palm Beach County last month. The LatinX Challenge is an in-depth workshop for people who live in or work with Latino communities, and who seek to end racial disparities in our institutions and end racism in our society.
Implicit Bias Workshop: In March, the board will engage in an equity-focused workshop titled “Race-Based Implicit Bias and Microaggressions.” The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Danniella Jones, a psychologist with Palm Beach County’s Youth Services Department.
June Workshop: In June, CSC Staff will present a workshop on racial and ethnic disparities in birth outcomes. This follows previous equity workshops in October, which focused on the importance of shared language and a historical background of racism in America, and in December, which answered the question of why it’s so important to lead with race.
