News Advisory: Area funders step up to support local nonprofits during COVID-19 crisis

In response to the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on our community, leading Palm Beach County funders announce the creation of a coordinated relief grant for area nonprofits.

The Coronavirus Relief and Recovery Application is designed to help these unsung heroes, who do all they can to support our community’s families.

This funding process will provide assistance to nonprofit organizations in Palm Beach and Martin counties whose staff, services and clients have been impacted by the disaster. As of today, the following funders have made a commitment to review applications and coordinate funding:

  • Allegany Franciscan Ministries
  • Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County
  • Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties
  • Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County
  • Lost Tree Foundation
  • Mary and Robert Pew Public Education Fund
  • Quantum Foundation
  • United Way of Palm Beach County

These funders are further coordinating their efforts with the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County Community Services Department, Palm Beach County Youth Services Department, Palm Health Foundation and Bank of America.

Funding priorities include:

  • Emergency food, shelter and other basic needs
  • Expansion of service capacity related to increased demand for direct services
  • Access to health care services for uninsured and underinsured clients
  • Technology and other resources to allow your organization to continue to provide services
  • Reimbursement of lost revenue

To receive funds, applicants must be a nonprofit organization providing services to Palm Beach County and/or Martin County residents.

Because of anticipated high volume of requests, applicants should not expect to be covered for all funding needs, nor should they expect to be funded the full amount of each request.  However, funders are committed to making the best use of available resources to address the highest priority needs.

To access the application through Google Forms, please click here. Funding will be made directly from the participating funder to the applicant nonprofit. Final funding decisions and reporting requirements are exclusively the purview of the participating funder.
