How We Partner in Palm Beach County

At Children’s Services Council, we see ourselves as advocates for change. We want to ensure that all of Palm Beach County’s children have a chance to grow up healthy, safe and strong. But we know that’s not a mission we can accomplish alone. That’s why we partner with community leaders to launch and support Collective Impact Initiatives. These special projects allow us all flexibility to dive into generational and systemic issues that challenge Palm Beach County families.

  • Achieve PBC
This initiative, comprised of more than 150 individuals representing 50 organizations and entities, is focused solely on preparing our underserved middle and high school students for post-secondary education and career development. To learn more about Achieve PBC, click here.

  • Birth to 22: United For Brighter Futures
This alliance developed a Youth Master Plan to support the healthy growth, development and education of Palm Beach County’s children and youth prenatally through young adulthood, so that they can graduate from high school and succeed in life.  This cradle to career alliance has grown from five organizations in 2013 to more than 300 in 2019.  To learn more about Birth to 22, click here.

  • BeWellPBC
This initiative, launched in January 2019, is engaging the community's residents, systems and sectors in meaningful ways to address the county's behavioral health needs collectively, with the promise that we can do better for our children, families and neighbors. • Community Alliance/Child Abuse Prevention
This alliance is a diverse group of child and family advocates comprised of stakeholders, community leaders, client representatives and funders of human services. This group analyzes the causes of child abuse and neglect, considers barriers to services and brainstorms ideas that can help ensure all children grow up healthy, safe and strong.

  • Hunger Relief
Hunger remains a persistent problem for too many Palm Beach County families. To identify solutions, United Way of Palm Beach County and the administrative leadership at Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners collaborated to develop and implement the Palm Beach County Hunger Relief Plan. To date, more than 60 agencies – including the Council – have signed on to participate in finding solutions. To learn more about Hunger Relief, click here.

  • Literacy
Research shows that the more books children own, the better they read. And children who are reading on grade level by the end of third grade are more likely to graduate high school. That’s why, the Council has partnered with the School District of Palm Beach County to give books to children prekindergarten through 5th grade – more than a million since 2013! The council also partners with the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County to provide books to children at well-child checkups at doctor’s offices, home visits and various community events. And we collaborate with numerous local, state and national organizations as part of the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. To learn more about The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, click here.
