CSC recognized as 'Pacesetter' by national Grade-Level Reading group
The Campaign for Grade-Level Reading announced today that it is recognizing Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County with Pacesetter Honors for its work in 2019.
“We applaud the leadership and commitment of time, talent, energy and imagination that have fueled progress in this Pacesetter community,” said Ralph Smith, managing director of CGLR. “Mobilized communities — like Palm Beach County and other Pacesetters — support our big bet on the problem-solving potential of proximity.”
Highlighted in the Pacesetter recognition are CSC’s establishment of the Strong Minds Network to increase the quality of early childhood care and education, support for the Palm Beach County Birth to 22 Alliance, development of the EveryParentPBC.com website and EveryParent apps, and strategic use of videos and data.
“Our Strong Minds Network provides information, learning opportunities, technical assistance and financial supports for both the child care staff and the child care programs,” said Lisa Williams-Taylor, CEO of Children’s Services Council. “A recent five-year evaluation shows that children attending sites in the Strong Minds Network are more likely to be ready for kindergarten than other children, and that’s just a part of the programs and services we provide.”
